Hanks were the Executive Producers of this ten-part mini-series for
HBO. Based on the book by Stephen E. Ambrose, the series tells the true
story of Easy Company, 506th Regiment, 101st Airborne from their basic
training in 1942, to D-Day, to their critical involvement in the Battle
of the Bulge, through their triumph of reaching Hitler's Eagle's Nest.
The project involved eight different directors and several
screenwriters including Graham Yost, creator of "Boomtown". The large
ensemble cast included: Damian Lewis, Ron Livingston, Donnie Wahlberg
and Neal McDonough. |
