- From the San Francisco Examiner: "Medical Investigation" (Fridays at 10 p.m.) -- Neal McDonough ("Boomtown") and Kelli Williams ("The Practice") work for the National Institute of Health. I'm not sure what that is, but I'm sure it will lead to many of NBC's patented "in the most shocking 'Medical Investigation' episode ever" promos. 5/18/04 - From the New York Daily News: NBC also unveils three new dramas: "LAX" (starring Heather Locklear and Blair Underwood ), the on-location cop show "Hawaii" and "Medical Investigators," starring Neal McDonough, the breakout star from "Boomtown." Last year, he was treated miserably by NBC in this time slot and canceled. But "Boomtown" star Neal McDonough switches from cops to docs and brings his distinctive style to medicine as a workaholic who heads the elite team that tackles medical emergencies. 5/18/04 - From the San Francisco Chronicle: "Medical Investigation": Apparently its original title, "The Cure," conjured up images of '80s-era navel-gazing alternative rock and, let's not kid ourselves here, having "Investigation" in the title certainly hasn't hurt shows on CBS. This one will center on camera-friendly Neal McDonough ("Boomtown") as a man who solves medical mysteries (naturally). 5/18/04 - From the New Jersey Star Ledger: ...the show with the least imaginative title ever, "Medical Investigation," which is about, um, medical investigation. Neal McDonough, who last year died in this timeslot with "Boomtown," stars. 5/18/04 - From AccessNorthGA.com: "Boomtown"'s standout, Neal McDonough returns in the badly titled "Medical Investigations." 5/18/04 - From the Buffalo News: "Medical Investigation," 10 p.m. Friday: Neal McDonough ("Boomtown") and Kelli Williams ("The Practice") are members of America's most elite unit of medical experts, who go around the country trying to rescue people. This is the location that NBC dumped "Boomtown" last fall. 5/18/04 - From the St. Petersburg Times: Medical Investigation, starring The Practice's Kelli Williams and Boomtown's Neal McDonough as investigators for the National Institutes of Health, is CSI meets Outbreak. 5/18/04 - From the Star-Telegram: Medical Investigation stars Neal McDonough (Boomtown) as the workaholic head of an elite unit of medical experts. Part cop drama, hospital thriller and forensic gizmos mystery, stories will be based on true accounts from the National Institutes of Health. 5/18/04 - From the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette: 10 p.m.: "Medical Investigation" -- Ripped-from-the-headlines medical stories highlight this drama about two medical investigators, played by Neal McDonough ("Boomtown") and Kelli Williams ("The Practice"), who travel the country "X-Files"-style investigating medical mysteries. A fellow TV critic already dubbed this one "CSI: NBC." |
